iLife '09 makes it easier than ever to get the most out of the photos, movies, and music on your Mac. In iPhoto '09, you can organize and find your photos in two new ways: Faces, based on who is in your photos, and Places, based on where they were taken. iMovie '09 lets you make the movie you want in the time you have. With new themes, you can give your movie a professional look in seconds. Or use the new Precision Editor to fine-tune your masterpiece. With Basic Lessons in GarageBand '09, you can learn to play piano and guitar. And you can compose and record your own songs with new guitar amps and stompbox effects.

Customer Rating: Summary: Functional New features Comment: I like the features that come with iLife '09 Just like all apple products everything is strait forward and just works
Customer Rating: Summary: Is It Worth the Money? Comment: Ok, I love my iMac and am a huge fan of Apple products. So when I read the reviews of iLife '09 and found reputable sources writing that upgrading was a "no-brainer," I put down my 70 bucks and bought the upgrade. The problem, for me, is this: The new features, such as guitar lessons in Garage Band and face recognition and GPS location tags for iPhoto don't add up to much. That is, I have found that I just don't use them. At all. I'm not claiming that this is a bad product--it isn't. I am suggesting, however, that the upgrade isn't significant from the perspective of users like me, who, busy with work and family, don't have much time any longer to practice guitar and who download home photos from the digital camera for storage and, in some cases, printing. Pretty basic applications. Any user who falls into the category of free-time-deprived basic user will probably regret spending the money for the upgrade.
Customer Rating: Summary: My life with iLife Comment: I recently had to have my hard drive replaced so to my surprise I couldn't find the software to load back onto my computer. So I began to look at the various versions of iLife.( Amazon had the most amazing price bought on the spot) My Macbook is 5yrs old so to no surprise iLife had made some amazing progress. I love the face recognition in the photo app. It has made it so much easier to locate photos. The iMovie is awesome it is so easy and fun to use. I'm not much of a garage band so I can't comment on it. Overall this is another great product for a Mac user.
Customer Rating: Summary: iPhoto improved Comment: The only part of iLife that I have used is iPhoto, and I like the new sort features, FACES and especially, EVENTS.
The iPhoto EDIT feature has been improved, though I have Photoshop Elements set as my external editor for best editing.
Customer Rating: Summary: Improved product Comment: Apple has done it once again! Iphoto now has the ability to recognize faces, post your pictures directly to facebook etc. Garageband also has the ability to teach you to play keyboard and guitar. The learning curve is not huge which is a plus. However, this upgrade should not cost more than 30 dollars!
