Break away from your regular headsets and enjoy your favorite music throughout the comfort of your own home. This small, stylish device works with your home sound system or personal stereo to stream the music stored on your BlackBerry smartphone or other A2DP-compatible devices. To wirelessly transmit your music, simply connect the Gateway using the accompanying 3.5mm stereo cable or RCA auxiliary cable to your stereo system, turn on the gateway, pair your device, and that's it! You are free to roam up to 30 feet without missing a single beat. The BlackBerry Music Gateway is compatible with all Bluetooth enabled mobile devices so you can stream your music from your BlackBerry smartphone, PC, laptop, or any other A2DP-compatible mobile phone. This easy to use, ultra portable accessory is great for those looking to enjoy their music the way it is supposed to be heard. Please Note: A BlackBerry Travel Charger or other mini-USB charger must be used in conjunction with the Gateway to provide power.

Customer Rating: Summary: You can't beat wireless music streaming! Comment: I use this product with my iPhone & iTouch. Once connected the product works extremely will. The sound to me seems better than CD quality. The bass is surprising very powerful on certain songs and that's without even tweaking the car stereo settings. I have it inside my arm rest and i barley know its there. Sometimes i have a pairing issue when i have my Bluetooth already connected and i turn the car off and on which cuts off all power to the BB Remote stereo. When i try reconnect it either doesn't connect automatically or it will but the connection is bad and when i start playing music the songs skip. Disabling Bluetooth on the phone and reconnecting usually fixes the issue. Also when i want to connect the iTouch and i have my iPhone bluetooth disabled. I run into the same issue described above.
Sometime i have to pair the iTouch all over again and that takes a little while. I have hands free Bluetooth built into the car. When somebody calls the music will pause and resume when i have hanged up. Just like if you were using headphones. These aren't deal breakers for me. I just thought i mention them.
Customer Rating: Summary: Reliable and very cool Comment: It took a long time before technology caught up and I could find an inexpensive, reliable and decent quality way to stream music wirelessly from my PC to my 'proper' home stereo. And even though I'm not a Blackberry phone user, this device is universally good and should work well for most people who have A2DP-enabled devices.
Once I installed the IOGear USB 2.0 Bluetooth Micro Adapter GBU421 in my PC and got this one, pairing was easy. It also paired flawlessly with my A2DP-enabled cell phone. But therein is one of the small but surprisingly negative aspects of the device: even when my phone's BT isn't in discoverable mode, as soon as I power this thing on, it aggressively goes after my phone and wants to pair with it even if it's not in the phone's list yet! So, I have to make sure the phone's BT is off, so it only pairs quickly and well with my PC, as intended.
I really like being able to stream all audio from my PC to the higher-quality sound of my home stereo system. Is there a bit of a quality fall-off because of the BT wireless protocol? Sure. But the convenience trade off is worth it--the joy of being cable-less. And for most music and audio, it's not a serious problem. (Careful equalization can help a bit.)
There are some concerns from other reviewers about the power adapter situation. When purchasing, you might want to make sure you get the FULL retail package, which (at least mine did) includes the mini-USB power adapter. If you need to get one separately, they're cheap and easily available, but it may save you some trouble.
As for it needing to be plugged in being a drawback - actually, that's in my view a good feature of it. Because if you ever use it in, say, a car with a cigarette lighter mini-USB power adapter, you won't need to fiddle with anything to get the thing to connect and disconnect - the car's battery will take care of that for you. Battery-powered BT devices unfortunately have a inconvenient 'feature' of their own: when their battery power is depleted, often they can't be used while charging (such as the Jabra BT3030 Bluetooth Stereo Headset, which I also like)! So it's actually better this way, with plug-in power only, for home or car listening.
Kudos to Blackberry for a simple, reliable and well-designed gadget that's bringing me much enjoyment.
Customer Rating: Summary: Blackberry Bluetooth Gateway Comment: The Pros of this product are:
You can stream audio media in stereo from your Blackberry device.
You can control the volume from you Blackberry device, So you end up with 2 volume controls the Blackberry and what ever audio source you are feeding into.
It pairs relatively fast and easily.
It is touch sensitive to turn on and off (very cool!).
It is very small in size.
The cons are:
The sound quality is not audiophile.
the distance is about 15 to 20 feet.
I have not been able to connect any other blue tooth enable media device to it. Its limited to Blackberrys only.
A charger is not included.
Speaking of chargers you have to buy a MINI USB charger for it not MICRO USB.... this is really not a Con unless you already have the new micro USB for your phone.
I like this product but felt the transmission distance and the inability to connect to other bluetooth devices lessened the value. I really did not expect audiophile quality music to be transfered through blue tooth, however it is livable especially for an office.
Customer Rating: Summary: Perfect with 2nd Gen v3.0 iTouch and 2009 Honda Civic Comment: It took about 60 seconds to get this working with 2nd Gen v3.0 iTouch and Honda Civic. You'll also need an adapter to provide power from your car to the mini UBS port on this device.
It powers up when I turn the car's key and the iTouch connects virtually immediately. Total butter.
The only minor issue it that it is pretty easy to turn this device off, just a slight touch will turn it off. I intend to hide away under my dash so this will not be an issue.
Customer Rating: Summary: Love this thing Comment: We don't have bluetooth in our cars and I really wanted a "wirefree" way to play the iPhone on the car stereo. I'm still surprised this was the only one I could find that provided this capability at a reasonable price and had some good reviews. The title doesn't help either in that it sounds like it's targeted just for BlackBerry but it works just fine with an iPhone. Sound quality is great. I really like how when you get out of the car and walk out of range the iPhone automatically stops the music. That way you can pick up right where you left off.
We just completed 20 hour trip using this and Pandora radio and we were really impressed.
We liked it so much we bought one for both cars. One goes through the AUX IN and the other goes through a CASSETTE ADAPTER. We use this one Walkman Car Connecting Pack for MD Walkman and CD Walkman (Model# CPA-9C) We are also going to get one for our home stereo.
The only down side is this model doesn't come with USB power cable. Since it is in the car I just plugged it into the USB slot on our iPhone car charger. So the only extra expense was the usb-mini cable which we seem to have tons of these days.
So bottom line if your car doesn't have Bluetooth built in but you have an AUX IN or a CASSETTE ADAPTER you can have wiresfree music in car.
Highly recommended.
