However, I don't find it necessary that she pick up on the cheesier aspects of country to create a new gimmick for herself. She's fine the way she is. I like the CD still, but I don't feel like adding a generic twang to your folk sound makes you a genuine country artist. Customer Rating: Summary: Imprescindible Comment: No quisiera hacer el juego fácil de palabras de y decir que este disco es una "joya", pero ciertamente lo es. Jewel se pasea por el country y el pop en este disco con una elegancia y finura que hacen que escucharlo sea una delicia. Pocas artistas mantienen un equibrio entre calidad y lado comercial y ademas salen airosas de esa batalla. Una producción muy cuidada, unas composiciones excelentes, un disco imprescindible. Customer Rating: Summary: Better than the last few Comment: I became a Jewel fan immediately upon hearing the Pieces of You cd. I have yet to hear a cd from Jewel that matches the beauty of that cd or the range of her voice. I haven't cared for the cds that she's released since then and keep hoping for one as good as Pieces of You. This cd is the closest one to her original style although she has alot of country nuances. Her voice is clear and nice to listen to, but the songs lack the deep emotions of the first cd. All of songs are love songs but lack true emotion in their presentation. All in all, it's a decent cd, good for listening to in the car when stuck in traffic. But I'm still waiting for a cd that is as good as Pieces of You (minus Adrian, which was unlistenable).
