I took a chance and lost my money. I must add that this is the first time I have purchased from Amazon and have been disappointed. Of course the reason it is so cheap is because it was not designed with a battery. It runs off an outlet. But when I was getting it, it occured to me that I never shave anywhere where there isn't an outlet anyway! And the lack of a battery gives several advantages too. No battery to die on you, which is awesome. (I have a different Norelco model with a battery that's not great. It shaves well but theres no battery meter of any kind, and if you're about to leave the house and you're shaving last minute and the battery dies (we've all been there before) then you're just screwed. Because that shaver, if the battery dies, will not work EVEN WHEN PLUGGED IN. You have to just wait until it's charged, to use it, which could be hours. Crappy designing on Norelco's part there. They should have made all shavers able to run on the power from the outlet while plugged in) But this shaver is great, no battery to die or go bad over time. And it's also more than powerful enough, because it uses power straight from the wall. It's also very light, because of the lack of a battery. Shaves well too, on par with other Norelco shavers that cost twice as much. Pretty close shave, comfortable, etc. I like this shaver a lot. Easy to clean, easy to manage, and provides a very close shave! I have sensitive skin + bumps that cause my neck to be fairly blood-spotted after a manual shave. Comment: I can't believe how quiet this thing is... it makes a light WHIRRING sound and cuts as good or better than the noisey buzz-bombs that I had used in the past. After reading the Owner's Manual, it has been determined that this thing needs a monthly cleaning and a two-monthly cleaning... both types of cleaning are different. I took that Owner's Manual and put it inside a ZipLoock sandwich bag to protect it from any water spills and store it under the vanity for instant reference when the required monthly cleanings are due. This is a truly very quiet shaver and it will not shake out your fillings in your teeth. I like it. The only bad thing is the short coiled cord that came with it... I use the old buzz-bomb razor cord which is about 5 or more feet in length. I never liked coiled cords anyhow... they have a habit of slapping you in the face... so the coiled cord derates it to a Four Star rating. This is my first Norelco... I like it muchly. I would buy another at this price.
