Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Great value with acceptable build quality except the USB end Comment: After using the charge cable for about a month with both an iPhone and an iPod nano, it has sustained a fair amount of abuse and still looks like new. For the money, this is the best Apple device charge cable I could find on Amazon. The iPod connector end feels light and cheap, but so far has held its own. As some other reviewers mentioned, the pinch connector could break because it seems to use a very thin piece of metal for a spring. The plastic housing holds the connector with a slight amount of play; I imagine with a decent amount of force it could crack. The cable should survive for a long time however as the manufacturer uses a bend-resistant (not sure of the technical term!) collar. The USB connector end is cheaper. The cable could easily break at this end since there is no bend protection at the base of the connector. This cable is probably best for people who leave the USB connector plugged in all the time. However (there's always a however in a bad review) the product worked for about 2 days and quit. It worked beautifully, charged and had no problems updating from my itunes for the short lived period of time. My original intent was to keep it in my desk at work instead of bringing my home one back and forth, oh well, for a couple of bucks I'm not too heart broken. As soon as I plugged it and connected it to my iphone, it flashed a message "Charging is not supported by this accessory". The connection to the iphone was too tight it was difficult to remove. There was no indication it was charging the phone at all since the picture of the battery loading did not appear I did not use it at all because it might damage my iphone. This is a totally useless purchase.
