Customer Rating: Summary: So humane it hardly catches anything Comment: This is practically useless... and what's humane about transplanting a pest. No-kill, you toss that little bugger out in the wild and with luck it's population will boom and create a huge mouse army... this army is close to the bottom of the food chain, and is invasive/destructive in MOST areas... not to mention they make up a substantial part of MANY creatures diets. So in essence, you've spared the suffering of one at the expense of generations of it.
Perhaps if you neutered or spayed the poor little thing before releasing it you could prevent this little oversight, a better trap would do this for you, give the dirtly little thing a shower, cab fare, and some pocket change to get it started in its new life.
An electric trap is much more humane and you just shake the corpse out. This unit caught one mouse in a HEAVILY infested house. An electric trap later caught about 2 a day in the same house.
If your conscience is so fragile you overlook reason, then this is the trap for you, otherwise go with a much more effective and humane solution.
Customer Rating: Summary: Had no success Comment: Well my title says it all. I purchased two of these traps and one of the metal live traps. The metal live trap I have purchased has now caught around 6 mice or so. The other two Victor traps have not even caught one single mouse. I have put them in various locations trying different spots and add fresh bait routinely. I suggest the live metal traps instead.
Customer Rating: Summary: Corner mousetrap Comment: These traps have worked extremely well for use. Easy to clean, very effective. A little peanut butter is all it takes.
Customer Rating: Summary: Either hit or miss - no middle ground Comment: Well constructed item, and easy to open and bait. However, after having read a number of reviews in a number of places, I was prepared for either excellent results or no results at all. I got no results. I've never had a problem with spring loaded traps, getting about a 90% success rate. These have been in a high traffic area baited with peanut butter and a bit of cat food for weeks, and no mice at all. There may be positioning factors or some other unseen difference at work because some people have had great luck with them. But you'll notice others have no luck at all. Apparently,it's either hit or miss with these.
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent Catch & Release Mouse Trap Comment: This is hands down the best mouse trap I have ever used. We recently discovered some mouse poop in our garage, so I ordered the Victor Corner Cat Mice Trap and received it yesterday. I set it up last night, which literally entailed opening the top and sticking a small blob of peanut butter inside and replacing the lid. By morning it had three mice in.
There are two entrances where the mice can get in, but not back out. The top is slightly opaque, clear enough that you can see if there are any mice in it but you can't see their whiskers right in your face as you would if it were perfectly translucent.
The latch is super easy to open and close, and it was light and easy for me to carry into a field by myself to release the mice. I just set the trap on the ground and easily opened the lid and stepped back to watch the mice scurry away.
I recommend rinsing it out after you use it as mine was pretty stinky from mouse pee by morning, I just sprayed it out with a garden hose and let it dry a bit before resetting it. I expect if there are any more mice in my garage, I'll be evicting them by tomorrow morning.
If you have mice and want to catch them quickly and release them easily, this is the trap for you!
