Summary: Good machine for the price
Comment: Seeing how these are prefab, it could have been the one I received, but the bolt holes were not all lined up. It made installation a bit difficult. Its also a bit louder than I expected. I have tightened the belt but still feel it needs a bit more tension.
I also thought it collapsed in a way where I can lay it under the bed - not the case. It folds to a standing position and is too wide for under the bed.
However, for the money and in comparison to the others I saw at this price range, this is the best one for the price. I have just started really using it and once you get used to it, it's not too bad; just wish it wasn't so loud. I may contact customer service and see what they say about it.

Comment: Delivered on time, easy to put together. So far, it seems like a solid piece of equipment. I think it`s a good deal for the money, but only time will tell. I read other reviews about this product that said they had problems with the control panel bolts not fitting correctly. I had the same problem with 2 of the 4 bolts, but I got them tight enough. I called Merit`s customer service, and they have called me back, but we have not been able to connect yet.

Summary: Great Machine...but beware faulty design on nut and bolts !!
Comment: Installation was easy but the nut and bolts supplied with this doesn't fit peoperly into their slots leaving the machine little weak. For 400 bucks its a very nice treadmill useful in places like small apartment spaces. I contacted customer service and they asked me to send pictures of fault in this machine which I am going to do. I will update this review on how they handled this. It has lot of variety of workouts but do not buy it if you are over 225 pounds. 200 pounds is the max range for this treadmill.

Comment: To assemble this product, I recommend using a different tool from the one they supply to screw in the bolts. Theirs DOES NOT WORK. I cannot emphasize this enough. Once I realized this, it was a breeze to assemble and the treadmill works great!! It's easy to operate, sturdy, has lots of functions and settings. I like that it has a secure place to hold a drink and other things such as an IPod. It's fairly quiet too. I belonged to a gym and recently quit. I would compare the quality of this treadmill to any commercial gym quality treadmill for sure.

Comment: I just can't get over what a great value this treadmill is. I read all the positive feedback and felt that at this price, I owed it to myself to check it out. It was easy to set up, is whisper quiet, and couldn't be easier to use. Has easy to operate incline and speed controls. The whole family is taking advantage of getting a workout while watching T.V. now. The only "heads up" I can offer is that there is a power switch at the bottom of the machine that needs to be turned on. Not easily visible and not clearly addressed in the operating instructions. I kept pressing the start button and couldn't understand why the machine wouldn't power up. Other than that minor detail -its a great investment in your familys fitness, and way more convenient than going to a health club.I used to go outside for a walk but with the unstable weather conditions in the Midwest, I often had to cancel due to rain, snow, or freezing cold. I nice piece of exercise equipment in the house also helps to eliminate these and other excuses. I highly recommend this Treadmill - absolutely easy to use and can be adjusted to any level of fitness.
