Customer Rating: Summary: Vicks Warm Mist Humidifier Comment: This Vicks humidifier works very well for what it was designed for. I use it to add humidity to my bedroom, however, a unit that is not a warm mist would probably do the job as well. For the money it is worth it....
Customer Rating: Summary: Very Good Comment: I bought 2. Does a very good job, has certainly helped my kids coughs tremendously. I had one for my first child and a lesser one for my second child but their coughs recently returned. I got these 2 new ones and the problem was nearly completely eliminated. I don't think we could get by without this. I bought them here because they were at least 25% cheaper than the same product anywhere else I could find. I highly recommend this humidifier.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good value for the money Comment: Overall, I'm very happy with this humidifier. I bought it for when my son or I have upper respritory coughs or croup. Warm mist is much better at keeping it from tightening up. This unit is relatively quiet (Far quieter than any cool mist I've ever owned).
It's a bit of a pain to clearm (as with any warm mist) because of mineral build up. However, if you clean it weekly as the instructions suggest it's not bad. Just leave it soaking in vinegar and take a little toothbrush to it afer to loosen up more, it comes clean easily.
I like this so much, I'm ordering a second.
Customer Rating: Summary: Best thing for stuffy noses Comment: Okay, I've had mine for 7 years and it just broke, I think. I'm buying another one right now because I've always thought it was a great product.
I was reading the other reviews about the 'daily and weekly' cleaning and I was flabbergasted. I had NO IDEA we were supposed to do it that often. I only cleaned it once a year - if that. Sure, the heating unit was pretty gross by the time I got to it, but seriously - daily?????
Anyway. It's quiet, it works, it's not ugly, and you can put smelling stuff in the little container in the top - any kind of oil to help you breathe or freshen up the room. It automatically shuts off (they all should!). It's a great product.
If my kids were coughing one night, I'd use it the next - or even in the middle of the night and it really did help them.
Customer Rating: Summary: Well, it broke Comment: Had mine for about 2 months. The water would collect underneath the tank and not filter up through the other side correctly. The filter side would get very hot (and smell). The water tank kept emptying and it would overflow onto my floor. The Auto Shut-Off never worked either. It worked the first week, then had all those problems.
