Summary: 2 Bait Door Failures
Comment: Just bought these traps for a baby mice infestation. Maybe this works better for larger mice. It did a good job of attracting them however the first mouse was in there eating for a good long while before he finally sprung the trap. When I went to toss it, I found the bait door halfway open with a good portion of his backside pushing out. Mouse number 2 entered 2nd trap about 20 minutes later. Again, rattled for about 15 minutes, then the snap. This time the the front end of the mouse was hanging out the bait hatch. I thought the little fella was dead, but when I got close he darted out and back into my stove top. Can hear him rattling around in the kitchen as I type this. I would be willing to try these again, but I would TAPE THE BAIT HATCH SHUT after baiting. Also, I'm not so convinced that the first mouse was dead.

Summary: It puts the cute in execute
Comment: Clean cheap and efficient with a stylish design that puts the cute in execute. This engine of rodent revenge gives you endless options to display your mastery over these soldiers of the devil. The trap is easy to bait and holds these egotistical little vermin in a grip that, if no action is taken, will slowly squeeze the squeek out of them and send a message to their fellow gangsters.
The tiny bait door is cleverly placed so that you can open it and look the little monsters eye to eye and they will know who THE MAN is. The delayed death feature gives you other options for execution if you want to get revenge and further demonstrate your domination. With a small bucket you can waterboard them and the trap is microwave safe but be sure to use the lowest power setting to avoid mouse detonation. This is not clear in the directions.
This is a great little trap and so much fun.
OK OK this is satire. The point is that the trap doesn't kill mice so you have two choices. One: you can kill them yourself by any imaginative technique or Two: you can release the little buggers which involves pushing the lever back down while a crazed and really pissed off mouse comes tearing out of the trap and going for you.

Summary: No noise does not mean it's dead
Comment: I have a feeling that anyone who gave this product a good review simply assumed the trap had killed the mouse. In reality the mouse probably spent a horrible few days in your trash can before finally dying. I bought this trap for the upstairs tenants of my house (grad school girls) thinking that they would not like to deal with the traditional snap traps. Instead they heard that a mouse had been caught by the squeaking and rattling sounds. When you come near the trap however the mouse won't make a sound, so unless they had told me about the noises I might have assumed the mice were dead. I released the mice and they looked to be in perfect health. I think many people may have not realized that they were inhumanely killing mice with these traps.

Summary: ok, the trap trigger is hard to read
Comment: But it did work. I had a little furry creature running amok in my house and these traps did the trick. It caught one mouse almost 10 minutes after the lights went out, and i had set another downstairs that looked like it was on reset, but upon inspection, i saw the little tail. I didn't really buy these for "catch and release", and i did NOT want to run the risk of poisoning a mouse and having it croak somewhere behind some furniture.
I just ran the trap out to the trash dumpster and tossed it in. I don't understand the complaints that it did not kill right away because that was my purpose was just to get it out-period.

Summary: Great Catch and Release, Unfortunately its Supposed To Kill Them
Comment: The mice I get in my house during winter are smart little critters. Normally they can take the bait from any normal snap trap without setting it off, so I resort to glue pads. New winter, new mice, decided I'd give these a shot. More expensive than most traps, but it said reusable, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Got home, loaded the bait door up with peanut butter, and heard it click within half an hour. Picked it up, definitely heavy enough to have a good sized mouse in it. Went outside to the edge of the woods to dump the corpse (no poison or glue, figured something out there would enjoy the free meal), dumped the mouse out, and... it looked really mad at me and ran off.

Since that enjoyable little experience, I got a bucket of water to "soak" the traps in before dumping the contents. I've caught two mice since then, both of which were still alive and well when I got to the trap. Other reviews say that small mice don't get squished enough to be killed. These were not small mice. If I had to guess, I'd say they were too heavy for the puny little spring in these traps to push up and smash.

As a trap, its very effective. It does catch mice quickly and cleanly. Only problem is that, from my experience, the "Kills Mice, Guaranteed!" logo on the box is a complete lie. These traps aren't strong enough to pinch your finger, much less kill a mouse. The fact it manages to catch and hold the mouse in place is the only thing keeping this thing from getting a 1 star review and a label of being completely worthless.

So, if you've got the stomach to kill the mice yourself once you've caught them, or you want to catch and release (so they can come back into your house 20 minutes later), then this trap is, if not suitable, at least serviceable. If you want the mice dead where you don't have to see or touch or do anything to them, this is a waste of money.
