We were very impressed with the performance of this device in our tests. The sensor is quite sensitive, very quick to light and we experienced no false activations. An excellent way to add automatic light to dark closets and cabinets; makes a great night light for safer navigation without producing constant light - especially helpful during power outages. Effective range 10-15' front, 15-20' side-to-side, 30-second auto-off; white finish matches any décor. Outdoor installation should only be done where unit will be protected from direct exposure to elements. Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Motion Sensor Does Not Work Comment: On the back of the product there is a switch with 3 options - On, Off, or "Auto"(Motion Sensor). The On and Off states work fine. However, the "Auto" state (Motion Sensing) setting does not work on the product sent to me. When in the Auto position, the light turns on, then goes off after a short period - but does not active when I wave my hand in front of it - at close range (1" in front), and further away. The motion sensor simply does not work. I am disappointed. Customer Rating: Summary: Didn't pay just to have more touch lights! Comment: Paid for 4 motion sensor units that I expected to light when I'm 4 or 5 ft away. Instead I got 2 that will light if I'm less than 2 ft away and 2 that light when I pick them up. Also the 2 that I have to pick only have 9 leds otherwise all 4 units look the same. If batteries had been included might have been worth the cost. The trip down the hall is still turn on a light or carry a flashlight for part of the way. Cannot recommend this product unless you have very low expectations. I tried one of those push on/off types but it was hard to get to the light to turn it on and off. This light is bright and the motion sensor and auto-off feature make it perfect for my application. Customer Rating: Summary: great for place where plug is not available! Comment: I purchased this light and the Maxxima MLS 1 for placement in locations where I don't have an outlet to plug into. This unit is far more sensitive to motion and far brighter than the Maxxima. Light is definitey bright white (LED white without a diffuser cover like the Maxxima has) so I wouldn't want to use it in a bedroom but it's great if you actually want sufficient light to see - unlike the Maxxima...and the price was better! For plug in motion sensor light the GE 50723 is awesome - especially with the Crane LED bulb!! Popped batteries in - has hang opening for nail. Dark and gloomy in SW Va - into bathroom for test - out into covered porch wall for next test - [using velcro tabs one can purchase even in grocery store.] Will be getting more for 'Santa Stuffers' and exchage gifts as everyone can use these.
