Customer Rating: Summary: Light weight, quality construction, but some caveats Comment: I have been using this item for roughly three weeks. I was immediately impressed by how light weight yet how well put together this particular item is. I definitely won't have to worry about it degrading over time the way my old pellet-filled Computer Lap Desk lap desk did. However, while this unit will definitely last, it has some limitations the other did not. 1) It's narrower, so not as much room for a mouse in comparison. It's also more compact and easier to hide somewhere in my house. 2) While the surface keeps the laptop from sliding at all (an excellent feature) that same surface makes it impossible for an infared mouse to work and you'll need a mouse pad if you prefer to use a mouse with your lap as I do (especially if I am playing a game). Highly recommend those very thin Dell mouse pads they used to (perhaps still do) ship with their computers as a get around as you can slide it under your laptop and use your mouse. While this works out well, its still a get around and I would have preferred perhaps a slightly wider lap desk with a portion set aside for a mouse. 3) While the angle is very ergonomically, if I want to place my Antec USB-Powered Notebook Cooler on it then with the angling, the laptop will slide off as opposed to just using a flat lap desk like the one I mentioned above. So overall this is an excellent product if you are going to go mouse-free as its light-weight, easy to use however you mgith be sitting, and easy to store. However, if you prefer to use a mouse and/or are a gamer, you might want to perhaps consider a cheaper option like the one above, even though it doesn't last, but its functional, $20 less, and you can just replace it every couple of years. Customer Rating: Summary: This is the best Comment: This is the best of several lapdesks that I have owned. It is so light that you hardly realize that it's there. I see no problem with my computers sliding off. There is no play at all as far as computers slipping, unless your computer has no rubber feet on the bottom. If anything, the surface is too "non-slip". You have to lift your computer to re-position it; you can't just slide it on the surface. Maybe if the unfortunate soul who complained about this had bothered to remove the plastic covering of the surface, this wouldn't have happened. It's a wonderful product and well worth the price. While the slick surface complaints are valid for the first few days, the surface seems to "wear" to a point that the slipping factor is no longer an issue. I added my alma mater logo decal (Go Bears!) to help catch the feet when sliding, but this is no longer necessary. I have an HP and it stays put when told. Logitech does it again! And the tilt is just right.
