Scranton’s most outrageous workforce is back to give their clients the business in the fifth hilarious season of The Office. Join obnoxious regional manager Michael Scott (Steve Carell) and his fellow paper pushers Dwight (Rainn Wilson), Jim (John Krasinski), Pam (Jenna Fischer) and Ryan (B.J. Novak) as they steal customers, frame co-workers, indulge in intra-office love affairs and just plain behave badly while a documentary film crew captures their every word and misdeed. Developed for American television by Primetime Emmy® Award-winner Greg Daniels, The Office: Season Five features 26 uproarious episodes – including two one-hour specials, exclusive commentaries, webisodes, deleted scenes and more in a sidesplitting five-disc collection no true fan of The Office can afford to miss!

Customer Rating: Summary: Hilarious! Comment: This season of the Office is so funny! You will laugh and fall in love with each character more and more! I would recommend it to anyone who is an Office fan.
Customer Rating: Summary: Brilliant Comment: This show just gets better and better - no spoilers here - if you like the others just buy it
Customer Rating: Summary: Nice DVD set Comment: The Office season 5 is a great set to get if you like the office tv series. Most likely you have already seen these episodes on tv on NBC or on TBS or whatever regional tv station has airing rights. Not much to review, you either have watched the episodes and would like to have them on dvd, or you never have in which case, first watch them and then decide for yourself if you would like to have them in your personal collection.
Customer Rating: Summary: Manufacturing Defect Discovered Comment: This review is for the Blu-ray format only. Getting straight to the point, I have encountered a manufacturing defect during the episode entitled "The Surplus." Nowhere in any of the Amazon reviews, which are primarily DVD reviews, have I seen anyone mention this problem. Approximately 17:34 into the viewing of the episode a subtitle (EXCLAIMS IN ANNOYANCE) appears on the screen. I have been able to find other customers who have confirmed this. I sent the following email to NBC/Universal on January 28, 2010:
To whom it may concern,
I purchased the Blu-ray format of The Office: Season Five and approximately 17:34 into the viewing of the episode entitled "The Surplus," a subtitle (EXCLAIMS IN ANNOYANCE) appears on the screen. So far, I have not seen this happen during any other episode, I still need to view disc four. Could you please inform me as to what is being done to replace this disc and when an error free product will be available to the public. If you are unable to, could you direct me to the person who can? I appreciate any assistance in resolving this issue. [end of email]
NBC/Universal has not responded to this email or the two subsequent emails I have sent. I have returned and received a full refund for this product. I urge you not to purchase this item or to at least view it immediately and look for this defect, as you will then have the opportunity to return it. It is possible that this error is limited, however, having no response from NBC/Universal...who's to say? I would appreciate if the purchasers of the DVD format would check for this quality flaw as well and post a comment either way. At $42, we should expect and receive a quality product. NBC/Universal has not given us that and does not seem to care.
Customer Rating: Summary: Still Funny, but losing its focus... Comment: The Office is a great show, one I'll watch into season 32 if still airing. This season was very funny, with some great stories, and some of my favorite episodes, but saw a show that is losing its focus. For instance (spoilers) the introduction of Holly was great, she worked well and the show and was a great foil for Michael, funny, dorky, and very likable. But after only a few episodes she's gone. Similarly, we get the Andy/Dwight/Angela love triangle come to a hilarious peak, but without any real consequences or fallout. The story just ends without a whole lot of mention. Then we get one of my favorite story lines, the Michael Scott Paper Company, which ends as quickly as it began. (End Spoilers) I guess that was the biggest problems with season 5, lots of great ideas that aren't fully realized. That being said the show is still very funny, and the overall melancholy of season 4 is long gone. The show is great, and I'm hoping come season 6, the show will take these great ideas, and really run with them, rather than end them abruptly.
