Needtobreathe's third studio album, The Outsiders is slated for an August 25, 2009 release. Recorded from the end of 2008 through April 2009 with Jim Scott, John Alegia and Rick Beato, fans will be reintroduced to the versatility they knew from their previous album, The Heat. The Outsiders truly finds NEEDTOBREATHE coming into their own, seamlessly blending ambient, arena-ready soundscapes with a decidedly Southern sensibility.

Customer Rating: Summary: Audio Perfection Comment: I have had this album for a little over a week. I have listened to this cd non-stop, over and over. If you have 5 dollars, you would have to be stupid not to jump on this deal. This is the best cd I have heard since Hello Hurricane from Switchfoot.
Customer Rating: Summary: Best kept secret no longer Comment: Not since being introduced to Jars of Clay's debut cd have I found myself so blown away by the totality of a cd. Needtobreathe delivered my favorite album of 2009, and it's sure to be high on my list of all time favorites for years to come. A perfect mix of an amazing vocalist, tight drum and guitar work, and stand up and take notice lyrics. Although I love the entire cd, after many spins I particularly love the latter half of the album starting with track 9, which is "Prisoner" and probably the best rocker song on the cd. Other great rock tracks are the radio friendly and foot stompin' good time "Lay em' down", "Hurricane" and "Girl named Tennessee" (which is just fun). Beautiful ballads include, "Garden" (love the lyrics in that one), "Won't turn back", and "Stones under rushing water". If you love drums then check out "Through smoke" and it's perfect bleed into "Lay em' down". I would love nothing more than to see many of these songs performed live. All in all, this is an amazing cd and I look forward to anything these southern rockers come up with next.
Customer Rating: Summary: Amazing Album - Every Track Comment: The album is absolutely amazing from the first to the last track. I initially got excited about this band when I heard "Lay Em Down" on Way FM - a Christian Radio station that plays contemporary Christian music with no commercials. I went immediately to the band's website [...] where you can listen to the full version of every track on all 3 albums, and I had to buy The Outsiders. I listened to this album nonstop for the first 2 weeks I had it, and it remains in a very prominent position in my playlist.
Customer Rating: Summary: A new fan... Comment: I've just gotten to know this group recently. My son introduced them to me about a year ago. I enjoy their unique style of southern rock as well as the lyrics to the songs. This album is another good production and worthy of any collection if rock & roll is your genre.
Customer Rating: Summary: Best album yet! Comment: I went to their concert 10/09 before I had heard their latest CD. I was blown away at the concert; I was really enjoying songs I had never heard before, which is pretty hard to do. I got the CD as soon as possible and have not been disappointed. I have probably listened to the CD a dozen times in a couple weeks, and I rarely skip over a track.
There are several "best" songs in my opinion on this album: Something Beautiful, The Outsiders, Through Smoke, Hurricane, Stones Under Rushing Water, Let Us Love, and Lay 'Em Down. These are just the songs off the top of my head that I can remember the title to.
I can't imagine that if you liked their previous albums, why you wouldn't love this one as well.
