Customer Rating: Summary: Family Tree 2010 Comment: I haven't had it long enough to really review. So far I like it just fine/
Customer Rating: Summary: Dissapointed, just stay online Comment: I bought the software after using [...] to build my family tree hoping to import the tree and keep working offline with relatives who don't do "the internet" The import from online isn't seamless, doesn't keep details (pictures, sources, notes) I've labored to enter and the interface after using the online version is unpolished and rough. It is a huge improvement over versions I used 5-10 years ago but if at all possible I'd just stay online.
Customer Rating: Summary: FTM 10 is Evolutionary Improvement Comment: I have used FTM for years, and never have used anything else. My last version was FTM 5, so buying FTM 10 was a big leap. I did not find much difference, but there are a few new features, so I guess it was worth it. You can still get along fine with FTM 5, but since FTM 10 is not that much money, I figured I would buy it. Bottom line is that it is worth what you pay, but no more.
Customer Rating: Summary: Worst piece of software encountered in 28 years! Comment: This is the worst piece of genealogical software -- infact -- the worst piece of any software -- I have ever used! I have several previous versions of FTM that had been excellent, but 2010 is the least intuitive, most clunky, overly complicated and least functional program I have encountered in 28 years of computer experience. Downloaded freeware (PAF) works far better than this sad excuse of an update. It took me 15 minutes to figure out how to enter one new name, to add the basics of birth and death, and parents. Then the program hung on its first use after install on Windows 7. Save your money and buy anything but FTM 2010.
Customer Rating: Summary: Disappointed Comment: I purchased the product after customer support told me it would fix the problems I had with the relationship calculator in Family Tree Maker 2009.
