Summary: Beware, It's a lease not a license!!!!
Comment: I've been using Trend Micro security products for quite a few years now. I've purchased at least 5 licenses from them, from plain AV protection to the full internet security suite when they started offering it, but I have given this company my last dollar. I found out last week that when my renewal came due that I no longer have access to the software, firewall and all. It was turned off and clicking the icon in the system tray or trying to get to the control console from the programs menu simply takes you to a link to their website where you must renew your license. In other words, not protection of any kind until they extort some money from you to renew. I feel like I should have still been able to use my software with the virus definitions current as of the date of expiration of my subscription until I get around to buying a new licence, or for however long I feel like actually, but nooooo, Trend Micro is going to force your hand and make you pay up for a renewal right now or you get nothing. Where I come from that is called a lease not a license. I'm sure it was all in the fine print when I clicked I agree during installation, but not the less I feel cheated. Their tier 1 tech support did offer me a 30 day extention on my current license after I made it clear I was not at all pleased, but I said no thanks and recommended that they reconsider their licensing practices as they are shaddy.
And on to the performance. This used to be a great product that ran well in the background like it wasn't even there. Over the years this has changed, using more and more resources and it has reminded me more and more of Norton with repeated nuisance screens especially with the firewall software. I've moved on from this product and suggest you do to.

Summary: System Cleanup Works Poorly
Comment: Using this product to clean up a nasty self replicating trojan was painfull and time consuming
The virus interfered with internet downloads, so executing the required updates had to be down from another computer. The download batch file provided failed. Pasting the ftp command lines from the batch file into my browser worked for 2 of the 3 needed files, but the name was wrong for the third. I was able to find the required file on the ftp site and download it. Not a process for a computer novice.
The System Cleanup application appears to have worked but provided no human readable log file and no message indicating success or failure
I expected less work for me and better performance from the software

Summary: Not Actually 2010- is 2009
Comment: This is the first year I have seen Trend NOT put the actual year on the front of the box. Now I know why- sent first one back and re-ordered from another Amazon vendor and still when you upload to your computer shows it's 2009.
Other than not what it's advertised to be, works very well.

Comment: This produce has really come a long way. I am happy with my purchase. My computer runs much faster after I took off the 2007 version and installed this version. It was cheaper to buy a whole new produce instead of renewing with the company. Amazon is the best!
