Summary: Good but ultimately just background music
Comment: This album is wonderful and well worth the price but in the end it has a specific place: brightening the mood of your Christmas events quietly, in the background.
None of the songs really stand out as interesting interpretations that you'll want to stick on your iPod and listen to while you're shoveling snow (or whatever you're doing).
If you're interested in beautiful ambient music that subtly emits a holiday aura, this is for you! If you're interested in a less traditional and slightly more interesting approach, you should look into Midwinter Graces by Tori Amos.
Midwinter Graces is an album that combines the holiday theme with truly original interpretations and classically written original songs.

Comment: I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THIS COLLECTION OF CHRISTMAS MUSIC THIS 2 CD SET HAS EVERY THING YOU NEED FOR CHRISTMAS MUSIC IT HAS ROBUST CHEERFUL SONGS AS WELL AS THE MORE INTIMATE SONGS THAT WE ALL CHEERISH SO DEEPLY THE CREATIVENESS OF CHIP DAVIS AND THE MUSICIANS ARE INSPIRING AND A VERY PLEASURABLE CHANGE TO TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS MUSIC I CAN HOPE FOR MORE IN THE IMMEDIATE FUTURE ALSO I WOULD LIKE TO ADD I HAVE MOST OF THERE CHRISTMAS CD'S AND I ALSO LIKE THE OTHER OR NEW AGE MUSIC THAT HE HAS CREATED FOR US HAVE A LIVELY AND SAFE THANKSGIVING AND CHRISTMAS THIS YEAR

Comment: As long time fans of the Mannheim Steamroller my family and I have really enjoyed the new cd. I only wish they would have put Deck the Halls on it. Thank you Chip Davis and crew for entertaining us for years. We also saw them live in Fresno, CA last holiday season....what a treat!

Summary: Just Another "Best of" Album

Although this is just another "best of" album, it is a good collection if you don't already own any of Mannheim Steamroller's Christmas albums. It was surprising that at one point the mp3 album was more than the CD ($14.19 for mp3 versus $9.99 for the CD). I'm glad to see that the mp3 album price has been lowered to $9.99.
