Linda returns to her Broadway roots on this release. The 12 tracks span roughly the last 50 years in cinema, from Mancini's "Charade," the title tune of the 1963 movie starring Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn, to "Falling Slowly," the Academy Award winner from Once, the 2007 Irish musical film. The originals may be familiar and beloved, but Eder and her band dramatically reworked the arrangements, rendering the songs in an intimate, fireside style. Other highlights include an aching version of Yvonne Elliman's 1977 disco hit "If I Can't Have You," from Saturday Night Fever and a faithful rendition of "Valley of the Dolls," the theme of the 1968 flick that Dionne Warwick turned into a No. 2 pop hit.

Customer Rating: Summary: I like you, Linda. But, this CD shows no improvement. Comment: The song selections are not so impressive. The way she sings is too. Nothing new in her singing styles, or in her emotions ... or interpretations, etc. Well, sorry if I sound too judgmental -- her liner notes or song stories (written by herself on the CD jacket) make me feel that she is just too much of herself: I, I, me, me, my, my, blah ... blah ... blah.
How can your audience/fans relate to you when you are too much of yourself, Linda? Reduce the ego state and you'll understand yourself and your fans and ... hopefully, the songs even better.
Customer Rating: Summary: Hate It! Comment: I love Linda Eder and I have all her tracks and all her songbooks, but since she split with her husband... forget it. I hate the country style and I hate her song choices. What I loved about her was her big voice and now you can't even tell she can sing. Save your money. Don't buy it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Linda Eder Fan Comment: If you love her voice you will really enjoy her selection of songs on this CD.
Customer Rating: Summary: BEST CD BY LINDA EDER Comment: This is probably the best CD ever recorded by Linda Eder. It is an interesting collection of a Beatles song (Help!), movie classics (Valley of the Dolls and Charade), and other songs such as I Will Wait For You and Can't Help Falling in Love and Everybody's Talking. This is a must for any Linda Eder fan and any other person who likes good music!
Customer Rating: Summary: Linda Eder never flops Comment: Linda Eder always matches her vocal talent with the musical content
I think I have all her cds and videos. I once attended a vocal session
at the University of Alabama. The New york voice coach used her video
performance of Man of LaMancha as a demonstration of a dominant performance. So it is.
